Caribbean carrot juice recipe (With and without milk)
This Caribbean carrot juice recipe blends sweet carrots with nutmeg, cinnamon, and a touch of ginger for that classic island flavor. This is a delicious carrot juice drink rich in minerals and vitamins, and it tastes amazing. It’s an easy carrot juice recipe that you can make with or without milk.

I love drinking juices. LOVE! If there is juice, I am going to drink it. And this is one of my favorite homemade carrot juice recipes — simple, refreshing, and full of memories.
I feel I got this from my Dad. Most of my punches (juices with milk), the recipe base came from him.
We’ll juice almost anything in the Caribbean. Check my other Caribbean drink recipes for proof! I mean, if it can be put in a processor or squeezed or blended, then we will mix it up and drink it.
We make drinks with a lot of our fresh fruits and vegetables. From cucumber to pumpkin and love to add some kind of “boost”, sometimes dragon stout or a little rum.
Today, I’m sharing my easy carrot juice recipe, sometimes called carrot punch across the islands.
You will be surprised how refreshing this drink is and how much you just want to drink it all at one time, and don’t share.
Light, refreshing, and full of flavor, this Caribbean carrot juice (sometimes called carrot punch) is a must-try for Sunday dinner. A great drink to pair with your Sunday dinner.
And if you like vegetable drinks, also grab the recipe for beetroot juice. Another one of my personal favorites.
How to make carrot juice (step-by-step recipe)
Ingredients for carrot juice recipe
Making this carrot juice recipe at home is super simple. Just a few ingredients and a blender, and you’ve got the real Caribbean deal.
- Carrots: Fresh carrots are the heart of this carrot juice recipe. The sweeter and fresher they are, the better the final drink tastes.
- Condensed milk: Regular sweetened condensed milk can be used, or if you want this to be dairy-free, coconut condensed milk and adjust the amount to taste.
- Spices: Nutmeg, vanilla extract, fresh ginger.
How to make carrot juice (with or without milk)
You can make this carrot juice recipe with milk for a creamy version or skip it for a lighter, dairy-free drink.
Extracting from the carrots
- Roughly chop up the washed and skinned carrots and the piece of ginger, and add to your blender. If you have a juicer or a food processor, see notes below for the method for those.
- Add your cups of water to the blender and blend till fine. My ninja did great (1000 watts). I started at the lowest and blended for a little then upped the power as it got finer.
- Once done, take the blended mixture and strain it into a fine sieve strainer. You can use a cheesecloth over the strainer for even better straining. Squeeze out as much of the liquid as you can into a large bowl.
- Set the leftover carrot pulp to the side.
At this point, you can now decide to have this done in two ways.
Carrot juice recipe without milk
If you choose without milk, all you need to do now is sweeten the mixture to your liking using your favorite sweetener, like sugar.
Carrot juice recipe with milk
If you want to make this with milk, here are the easy steps. And my favorite option.
- Add the fresh carrot juice back to the blender,
- Add the milk, essence, and sprinkle nutmeg. I would start with about 1/4 cup of condensed milk and adjust if more is needed. This can vary depending on how sweet your carrots are.
- Blend till combined.
Once fully combined, serve chilled or over some ice cubes. I would much rather it be chilled.
Garnish with a little grated nutmeg or dust of ground cinnamon.
Easy peasy!
Tips
This carrot juice recipe is best when you use fresh, sweet carrots.
- Please stay away from those big bags of “juicing” carrots. They do not taste great. Try finding the freshest carrots that you can find. Most times, these would be organic ones free of any chemicals.
- The leftover pulp can be used to make nice baked goodies, like carrot cakes or muffins, and can even be used to make soups like my carrot ginger soup.
Other ways to make carrot juice at home
If you don’t have a blender, there are other ways to make this homemade carrot juice recipe — a food processor or juicer works just as well.
Food processor:
I have done this numerous times before when I didn’t yet have a powerful blender.
- Chop up the carrots and ginger and add to your processor. Add the water and grind till the carrots are very fine.
- Remove the carrot mixture and strain, putting the carrot pulp to the side. Add the liquid back to the processor, add the remaining ingredients, and combine.
Juicer:
- Juice your ginger and carrot through your juicer.
- The juicer would do your separating of pulp from the juice so you don’t need to strain. Once juiced, in a large bowl add your remaining ingredients and mix everything.
Additions | Substitutions
This carrot juice recipe is super flexible. Try one of these fun variations:
- Alcohol: Want to turn your carrot juice recipe into a grown-up version? Add some Guinness Stout or rum for that authentic Caribbean twist.
- Lime: A touch of lime adds a nice level of flavor to the drink. Both with milk and without milk. Simply squeeze about half a lime into the combination.
- Milk substitutions: If you do not use regular condensed milk and would prefer to use maybe plant-based milk instead, like coconut milk, oat milk, almond milk, or even plain unsweetened milk, you can. You will just need to use your sweetener of choice, if needed, after adding milk.

FAQs
Keep this carrot juice in the fridge in an airtight container. It can stay there for up to 5 days. When ready to drink, give it a good shake or stir, then serve.
Some people prefer boiling before blending, but this carrot juice recipe works great with raw or cooked carrots.
Honestly, I don’t think you MUST peel carrots, but I do. Removing the outer skin of the carrots before use is a personal choice.
Pretty much! This Caribbean carrot juice recipe shares the same ingredients and creamy flavor you’ll find in many islands’ versions.
