Caribbean BBQ Sauce

This homemade Caribbean BBQ sauce blends sweet, spicy, and smoky flavors with a tropical twist. Pineapple juice and a splash of rum give this sauce island flair—perfect for grilling, dipping, or drizzling.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¾ cup chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • ¼ cup rum
  • 4 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 chadon beni leaves finely chopped (optional)

Method
 

  1. Add all ingredients to a deep saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool completely.
  4. Transfer to a clean, airtight bottle and refrigerate until ready to use.
