Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices hard dough bread cubed
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup cherries optional
For amaretto sauce
  • 1/2 tsp flour
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tablespoons Amaretto

Method
 

  1. Using a large bowl, add eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon powder, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  2. Whisk them till combined.
  3. In another bowl, add bread cubes and pour the mixture over it.
  4. Make sure all the bread gets saturated.
  5. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Mix in raisins and cherries.
  7. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes. Until a nice brown color.
For amaretto sauce
  1. In a heated saucepan add flour and sugar and mix
  2. Add vanilla, cream and milk
  3. Add rum to mixture and bring to a boil
  4. Whisk to make sure everything is incorporated
  5. Lower to medium-low heat and let thicken. KEEP YOUR EYE ON IT.
  6. Remove from stove and let cool for a little then pour over bread pudding.
