Method
- Wash ginger, turmeric, and lemon thoroughly under cold water.
- Slice ginger and turmeric into thin rounds.
- In a deep pot, add the sliced ginger, turmeric, cloves, and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat and boil gently for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, add lemon slices, cover, and let steep for 5 minutes.
- To serve, strain if desired, then add lemon juice and honey to taste.
Notes
- Keep the skin on the ginger, turmeric, and lemon, just make sure to wash them well first.
- You can double the recipe to make a larger batch, but the flavor will continue to intensify as it sits. Remove the solids once you reach your preferred taste.
- Straining is optional, great if you prefer a clearer tea.
