Trini Chado Beni Sauce

Chadon beni sauce is a bold, herby Caribbean condiment made with culantro, garlic, lime, and pepper. It’s quick to blend and perfect for drizzling, dipping, or seasoning your favorite dishes.

Ingredients
  

  • 30 Chadon Beni leaves. I remove the lowest ends that are only stalks
  • lime juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 a hot pepper with seeds and membranes removed
  • 3 large garlic cloves

Method
 

  1. Wash, dry, and chop up Chadon Beni, and garlic.
    30 Chadon Beni leaves., 3 large garlic cloves
  2. Remove seeds and membrane from pepper and chop up.
    1/2 a hot pepper with seeds and membranes removed
  3. Add leaves, water, lime juice, salt, and garlic to the processor.
    1/2 cup water, lime juice
  4. Blend well to the consistency you prefer.
  5. Taste for salt/pepper and adjust as needed.
    1/2 teaspoon salt
